Gerald King, Director of Finance

Gerald King is a newcomer to Heitz Wine Cellars; however, he is a 20-year veteran of the wine industry with an outstanding record in the fields of finance and accounting.

Raised in San Rafael, California, Gerald earned a degree in Economics from the University of Oregon in Eugene. He returned to California, becoming a Certified Public Accountant and continuing his education with graduate work at Sonoma State University.

Early in his career, Gerald worked as an audit manager with Deloitte Touche in Santa Rosa where he gradually became a specialist in the wine industry. Deciding to head in that direction full-time, Gerald ultimately served as Director of Finance and Logistics for the U.S. wine division of a multi-national company.

In 2002, Gerald launched his own accounting practice. Heitz Wine Cellars became a client and ultimately both parties realized that their part-time business relationship deserved a bigger commitment. We officially welcomed Gerald to the Heitz team in the Spring of 2007.
